Emo Court & Gardens

Emo Court House and Gardens is a stunning estate rich in history and natural beauty situated in Emo, County Laois in the shadow of the Slieve Blooms and just under 30 minutes’ drive from us here at the family run Abbeyleix Manor Hotel.

The House at Emo Court

Emo Court House is a magnificent example of a neo-classical style mansion.  The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens and parkland featuring a lake, woodland walks, many fine trees and shrubs. Tours are available for the House at Emo Court and last approx. 50 minutes and pre-booking is recommended.

Emo Court Parklands

Emo Court Parklands are open 365 days a year meaning you can take a walk at Emo regardless of the season or weather. Enjoy the mile-long Wellingtonia Avenue, wander among the elegant yews and statuary of the formal lawns or take in the Lakeside Loop. While you are exploring the parklands be sure to keep an eye out for Irish red squirrels, which are native to the estate, and a range of rare birds including buzzards and egrets.

Emo Court Tea Rooms

The Emo Court Tea Rooms is ideal for taking a rest and enjoying a speciality coffee some sweet treats or for picking up some gifts. Open all year round except for Christmas Day.

After a busy day exploring Emo Court, one of Laois’s best-kept secrets, return to the warmth and comforts of Abbeyleix Manor Hotel (just under 30 minutes from Emo Court). Relax with a drink in front of the log fire in the lobby or enjoy a delicious meal in the Manor Bar & Bistro before retiring to your comfortable guestroom. The perfect getaway!
