Stradbally Steam Museum-Stradbally Steam Museum is based in the picturesque village of Stradbally, home of the renowned Steam Rally. The museum contains some beautiful steam engines dating from the early 1900s and also has some fine farm machinery from the same era.

Walking in Laois

A Walker's Paradise - The county is made for the walking enthusiast. Wonderful walks, suitable for all ages and abilities, abound throughout Laois including The Lord's Walk in Abbeyleix and the Durrow Leafy Loop. The imposing Slieve Bloom Mountains could be described as the jewel in Laois' crown, with beautiful scenery, walking trails and forest tracks which are ideal for the avid mountain walker. The Slieve Blooms are also the perfect location for cycling, fishing and horseriding.
