Guest Reviews

See Below some of our fantastic reviews from very satisifed guests at our wonderful hotel in Abbeyleix, Co. Laois.

“Lovely relaxing place/friendly staff”

I often call to the Manor at lunchtime. The staff are extremely friendly. I actually pass other food establishments just for the friendliness of the Manor staff. The food at lunchtime is very reasonable also. They will make up food for you that might not be on the menu also. September 2016

“Long weekend in Abbeyleix”

The Manor Hotel Abbeyleix is central to this lovely clean little town which has lots to offer couples who are looking for a week/weekend away. The hotel is within walking distance to the main square. There are two supermarkets, various shops, antique and art shops. There are great places to drink, traditional Irish pubs (Bergins) was one of our favourites. There are lots of places to eat if you want to dine outside the hotel. Quinns was one of our favourites in the afternoon, lovely cakes and sandwiches, we had the traditional Irish breakfast at the hotel which was lovely and reasonably priced. Sunday tends to be quite busy in the hotel for Sunday lunch which is also very good and appears to be popular amongst the locals. Abbeyleix has quite a lot of history attached to it with plenty of good walks. Tourist information which is provided in the hotel and the staff are so happy to help with any queries. We decided to change rooms to the rear of the hotel for a more restful sleep as the main road can be quite busy during the week. The hotel has quite a lot of seating areas with a large bar with t.v's the bedrooms are spotless and spacious with clean change of towels and condiments every day. There’s also a large parking area to the front of the hotel. May 2016

“Excellent Food”

We were so happy to have a great meal in the Manor on Thursday last after a wet and cold day down the country. We had excellent food, service and value for money. Looking forward to calling again. The Manor in Abbeyleix is on route from Dublin to Cork. January 2016

“Homely and great value”

As someone who has to travel for work and stay in hotels alone, I found this hotel to be everything I needed and more. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and could not have done more to make me feel comfortable. The room was most comfortable and quiet while my meal was delicious and served with genuine friendliness. It is most refreshing to stay in a family run hotel where the customer's comfort is number one. Such an antidote to big, impersonal hotels! Keep it up. January 2016

"Excellent value for money”

Stayed Saturday night whilst visiting family - Reception area has been redecorated. Reception staff so pleasant and helpful as usual. All looks very cosy and inviting. Room was spotless, warm and loads of towels and extra pillows if required.  Bedlinen soft and so comfortable. Had a great nights sleep. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and special requests no problem. Food excellent and no skimping on the portions. All in all excellent value for money. November 2015
